About the webinar

New Zealand can enhance the emission reductions achieved from using biofuels by capturing the waste carbon dioxide emissions.  The extraction of green carbon dioxide from biomass heating can produce a valuable co-product.

The green carbon dioxide is a valuable product for enhancing plant growth in covered horticulture and is necessary for carbonated beverages.  The recent shortage of supply of food grade carbon dioxide alerted many people that we need to develop diversity of production of food grade carbon dioxide.

Attendees heard how:

  • Carbon dioxide recovery from bioenergy boilers is evolving internationally.
  • Cost-effective carbon capture and delivery to market can be achieved by use of technology for sieving carbon dioxide from boiler emission streams.
  • Understand the history of how solid-state carbon dioxide adsorbent was discovered and developed at Massey University.
  • Solid state adsorbent material has been used to capture emissions in New Zealand at demonstration scale.
  • Solid state adsorbents compare to other methods of carbon capture.
  • Captured carbon dioxide can be used or stored.

The Bioenergy Association invited anyone interested in carbon dioxide recovery to attend this webinar.
