Case Study: 36MWth Easteel bubbling fluid bed boiler, PanPac, NZ

Pan Pac Forest Products, Whirinaki, Napier, New Zealand, a case study by Brightwater Engineers, prepared with funding from EECA

During 2001-2002, Pan Pac Forest Products Ltd at Whirinaki, Napier, installed a 36mWth Easteel Bubbling Fluid Bed (BFB) Boiler. Pan Pac required a Fuel Handling and Management system to store and deliver fuel for the new boiler. The fuel comprises coarse green Woodwaste and dry shavings. These require storing separately and then delivering to the energy plant in a blended and metered condition according to furnace demand.
